Baby Abigail

My friend Lindsey and her hubby Aaron welcomed their beautiful princess into the world Tuesday, March 24 at 0844. Lindsey's water actually broke at 0130 in the morning however they had already scheduled Lindsey to have a c-section and the doctor decided to continue with that plan. Good thing because Abby was born 9lbs 14oz. She had to stay in the hospital a few extra nights due to an unknown caused fever, but i now home safe and sound with mom and dad. I went to see them all a couple of times while they were still in the hospital.

Insurance crap

Well my workers comp insurance company scheduled an independent medical exam "on my behalf," which I never asked for. I arrived at the appointment 20 minutes early to turn in my paperwork and fill out any additional. Once I arrived the receptionist said that my appointment had been cancelled by the insurance company the 24th. Needless to say they had not bothered to tell me they had cancelled the appointment.

2008 Holiday Party in 2009

Well, due to the crazy winter weather my company finally cancelled our Holiday party in December after protesting that they weren't going to cancel no matter what. After about the 2nd foot of snow dumped in Portland is when they decided that it wasn't going to happen. Instead of cancelling and never rescheduling they did reschedule for January 31. My bestest friend Tammie tucked up from Salem to join my in the "Festivities." As usual awards went to the same brownie nosers as last year, but we had a good time and even got in front of the camera.

Yet Another Doctor

So I went and saw my 4th doctor yesterday. He's a Physical Medicine and Rehab doctor. He too said I don't need another surgery and suggested a trigger point injection. A trigger point injection is when they inject Cortisone into the muscle that is causing me pain. He said it would take about a week for me to feel the effects, I definitely hurt the rest of yesterday. He also suggested that I jump into work and see what happens, I start Saturday. He was a very cheery doc and I felt that he really care, a change from the first one I saw. So I will see how I have heal up Saturday.

Mom's first Facial

Today I took my mom for a morning of much needed pampering. A couple of years ago I bought her Spa Finder gift cards, needless to say up until this point she hadn't used them. I had also found on Portland Live's half price spot some $60.00 gift certificates for only $30.00 at a spa in Beaverton, Elixir Day spa. During the bad weather I had scheduled us an appointment for us at Elixir, but due to the 3 feet of snow we got and the "devastating" amount the Portland Metro area got we weren't able to go. So I rescheduled for today. It was a nice, warm feeling place. They put us in a room that was large enough that while one was getting a facial the other could get a foot massage. We both had fun and it was a great Mother-Daughter Day.

Back to the back surgeon

So I went to see my back surgeon yesterday to see what he thought of my newest injury and MRI. He didn't see any thing "broken," I won't need another surgery, and thinks I just strained my back bad. Unlike the other doctors I've seen he actually looked at the MRI while I was there as apposed to just reading the radiologist's report, who was pretty far in left field with my firth MRI. I'm felling mentally better, mostly because I won't have to go through another surgery. I have another appointment with another doctor on the 12th.
